Movement
Observation of Scintilla spp. in captivity while on Heron Island revealed that this species is not entirely sessile in its adult stage. After placement in a large tank, individuals used their foot to move under coral rubble, seeking shelter, with some attaching specimens themselves to the underside of the rubble. While Scintilla spp. has the capacity for locomotion, it seems to be effective only over short distances.
